Mt. Nelson is a Cellarmaker Brewing Company (San Francisco, CA) classic. So when they entrusted their buds at Highland Park Brewery (Los Angeles, CA) to craft their own version of their Pale Ale, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
And when I finally did, my senses embarked on a journey…to climb to the top of the delicious mountain known as Mt. Nelson (5.7% ABV).
After a long pour, you reach the peak, and you’re surrounded by fluffy, white, cloud-like head.

Then your nose comes to life as the dank aromas of white grapes fill the air.
Out of the corner of your eye, you notice a river flowing with soft hazy yellow ale.
Mt. Nelson Tasting Notes
You reach down to take a sip, and your tastebuds are greeted with vibrant notes of tart grapefruit and sweet pineapple.
I can only describe the final destination of this beer adventure as “pure Pale Ale paradise.”
If there was a mountain range called Pale Ales, Mt. Nelson would be the highest peak in that range because it absolutely takes this beer style to new heights.
